This has been a long week. Monday I had to rush out of work to go give Junebug a bath before the weather turned cold. Tuesday I was home with a sick Grace. My older kids took a test on Swing Dancing and Jazz music this week. I will have you know that Swing dancing was popular in the 1980's and 1990's; Two famous jazz musicians were Neil Armstrong and Dennis Rodman; AND The American Revolution was going on during the time when swing dancing was popular. This is a long weekend. Hallelujah. Four glorious days all to myself before I have to come back and, apparently, reteach my unit on Jazz....

Oh, you just reminded me of something! My mother was participating in a kid's write program a couple of years back. She was already in her 80's, having been born in 1923. She was exchanging letters with a fifth grade girl, and one of the questions the kid asked was, "Do you remember your disco days?" She thought that was the most hilarious question. I told her, "Well, anyone young in the mid to late 1970's would be at least 80 now, right? :) My mom tried to explain Big Band music and jitterbugging, and that she hadn't been part of the disco generation.
